Evija Freidenfelde (1966) has a master’s degree in biology and law; in 2023, she graduated from the Art Academy of Latvia Latvian Academy of Master’s program in the Department of Graphics. Works as a painting and drawing teacher for children and teenagers. She also works as a curator, has won various art competitions, and actively participates in exhibitions. The artist likes combining painting and graphic techniques, tonal intensity and texture in her creative expression experiment. The graphic series “Illusory Reality” works are created using the authors’ technique emphasising different intensities of black, gray and white tones. The city and its various atmospheric elements are the central motifs of the works. The series is permeated with a sensitivity expressed by nuanced tonality, creating dreamlike landscapes that approach poetic abstraction. The artist’s signature is on the lower left.
